With his 6th studio album Jean F. Cochois aka The Timewriter surprised us at Plastic City as well as the critics. A bit more square-edged and rough he fuses modern melodic harmonies and strong rhythms with a warm old school twist and flavour at the same time as hitting totally the zeitgeist. Every track of the album goes right into the body, touching emotions and mind and throwing them into a higher state of consciousness. So we asked four of the best german producers and remixer to give us their interpretation of the album beauty “Pasodoble”. And here they are: And.id, Kruse & Nuernberg, Pol.on and Junior Gee.

Berlin based Greek And.id aka Andreas Dimitriadis takes his remix job very techy. Pushing subbasses, hard beats and rough highs are throwing the vocal snipptes of the original in a really driving and fresh surrounding. And.id, part of the Mobilee family who started his career with his first release on Thinner Netlabel proves his intuition for kicks, beats, melody and surprising accents. Hamburg based deep house duo Kruse & Nuernberg convince with a strong groove, playful percussions and nice interlaced organ sounds. With their releases on Simple, Mood Music, Dieb Audio, Slip N Slide, MN2S sub label 1-trax or Nic Curly's 8bit they embraced the deep house scene and give their remix a surprising old school touch with the latent piano elememts.

Polish tech house duo Pol_on combines a strong melody with straight chords and a low-key groove. Jazz musician Kacper Bogacz and Warsaw's well known techno/house DJ Michal Piotrowski prove their credibility in addition with mysterious piano sounds and baleful synthesizer spheres in the break. A really subtile house track and a very felicitous interpretation of the original. Techno and house producer Junior Gee (also part of the Filth Music team) from Portsmouth presents a very dreamy version of “Pasodoble“. Light and bright chords, nearly balearic are lifting up the track into another sphere of reality while the earthy tribal percussion parts keep the character of the track on the ground. This version of the original reminds explicitly to former productions of The Timewriter.
