Within the Plastic City artistpool Lexicon represented a fresh funky tech-house sound. Their first release on Plastic City was the multi-styled "Hall of Lexicon" EP which featured hard tech-house sound on the a-side and easy-listening trip hop on the flipside. Although this might seem strange to some of you, we think it's more kind of simply unconventional. The producers of Lexicon, DJ La Monde and Jost Gerischer, create a wide variety of sounds from hard techno to house and trip hop. This is to be expected if one takes into account their diverse backgrounds. Jost was involved into the local Hip Hop scene while DJ La Monde's roots are the techno- and houseclubs. They also run the techno label Monoid for more than five years. Lexicon have done remixes for the well known acts Boy George (Jesus Loves You) and Armand van Helden.

The second double A-single "Superstar/Funk Corner" was a breakthrough for Lexicon. Soon after followed their first album, "The Lessons", which was well accepted by the global dance community. They've alredy played live at venues like Nature One, Jailhouse and M1. Outside of Lexicon, La Monde and Jost also perform a and recorded as "ManMachineMan" on the label "Mole Listening Pearls. In July 1998 Lexicon presented "Swanky" - their first single from the forthcoming second Lexicon album . Their second album self-entitled "Lexicon" was released in October 1998.

The second and from the album was "Don't give the Love" with remixes from Laidback Luke and Lexicon (March 1999). Unfortunately, after some more single releases on Plastic City und Plastic City America, the musical career of these two skilful talents took them in different directions. So we have to live with only two albums from Lexicon - we´re sorry...
